The Lancia Appia is a small family car produced in three series between 1953 and 1963 as a replacement for the Ardea. It was sold as a 2-/4-door saloon, a 3-door estate, a 2-door coupé and a convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine.
The car was powered by a one-litre V4 engine with power ranging from 33 hp (24 PS) to 59 hp (44 kW) depending on the version and series. It was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. In total, more than 100,000 examples were produced.
The third series was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with a new front mask. In 1960, the braking system was upgraded with twin drum brakes. The top speed of this series was around 130 km/h. In total, around 55,000 examples were produced.
