The Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) is an ultra-luxury car produced in West Germany (Stuttgart) between 1963 and 1981. It was sold as a 6-door saloon, 4-door saloon and limousine and landaulet limousine with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. Nicknamed the Grosser (Large) Mercedes, it replaced the Type 300d as the company’s flagship model.
At the time of its launch, it was the most expensive car in the world. Its competitors included brands such as Rolls-Royce, Cadillac and Lincoln. The 600 was powered by a 6.3-litre V8 engine with 247 hp (184 kW), which allowed it to reach speeds of around 200 km/h (200 mph). Average fuel consumption is around 25 l/100 km.
