The Ford Consul is a car manufactured by Ford of Britain between 1951 and 1962. The name was later revived for a model produced by Ford of Great Britain and Germany between 1972 and 1975. It was sold as a 4-door saloon, estate and 2-door convertible. In total, more than 1.1 million examples were produced.
The second generation was produced between 1956 and 1962. The car was powered by a 1.7-litre I4 engine and produced 59 hp (44 kW). This allowed it to reach a speed of 127 km/h (127 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (62 mph) in 23.2 s. In total, more than 350,000 examples of the generation were produced.
