The Aston Martin DB4 is a grand tourer built in England (Newport Pagnell) between 1958 and 1963. It was sold as a 2-seater coupe, a 2+2 coupe and a 2+2 convertible with rear-wheel drive and a rear-mounted engine. From a technical point of view, the DB4 was not an evolution of the DB Mark III, nor was it replaced by the DB5. Instead of a tubular chassis, it was built on a platform. In total, more than 1,200 examples were produced.
The Aston Martin DB4 GT was a special lightweight version and, more importantly, a high-performance version of the DB4. It was introduced to the public in 1959 with enclosed headlights and a thinner aluminium shell for lighter weight. The car was powered by a 3.7-litre I6 engine with 302 hp (225 kW), allowing it to reach a speed of 246 km/h (186 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (62 mph) in 6.1 s. A total of 75 examples of the GT version were produced.
