The Iso Grifo is a limited edition grand tourer produced in Italy (Bresso) between 1965 and 1974. It was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. Its role was to compete with the grand tourer offerings from Ferrari and Maserati. The first GL models were powered by Chevrolet’s 5.4-litre small-block V8 engine. This engine had a standard output of 300 hp (220 kW) and allowed the car to reach speeds of 110 km/h (110 mph) in first gear.

In 1970, the second series Grifo was introduced with sleeker styling, hidden headlights and a 7.4-litre V8 engine. In 1972, the Grifo IR-8 version with a 5.8-litre V8 engine was launched, which was also the last one, as the manufacturer went bankrupt.
