The Porsche 356 is a sports car produced between 1948 and 1965 as the company’s first production car in several series. It was sold as a 2-door coupe, convertible and roadster with rear-wheel drive and a rear-mounted engine. It was characterized by its light weight and nimble handling. Production was initially located in Austria, but moved to Germany in 1950. In total, more than 75,000 examples were produced.
The Porsche 356 C was introduced as the last variant of the 356 and was produced from 1964 to 1956. It was available with a 1.6-litre and a 2-litre flat-4 cylinder engine, which were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. In total, just over 14,000 examples of the C version were produced. It was replaced by the 911.
