The Lancia Fulvia (Tipo 818) is a large family car produced between 1963 and 1976 as a replacement for the Appia. It was sold as a 4-door saloon, 2-door coupe and fastback with front-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show and named after the Via Fulvia, the Roman road leading from Tortona to Turin.
The car was sold with six different V4 engines, ranging from a 1.1-litre with 57 hp (43 kW) to a 1.6-litre with up to 190 hp (97 kW) depending on the setup. The engines were mated to a 4-speed or 5-speed manual transmission.
