The Volvo 164 is a medium-sized luxury car produced in Sweden and several other countries between 1968 and 1975. It was sold as a 4-door sedan with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October 1968 as a luxury version of the 140 series. In total, more than 145,000 examples were produced.

The grille, front bumper, bonnet, headlight bezels and front turn signals were unique to this model. The car was powered by a 3-liter I6 engine with 160 hp (118 kW), mated to a 4-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. This allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 193 km/h (193 mph).
