The MG Midget is a small, lightweight, 2-seater sports car produced in 1961-1979 in several versions. It was sold as a 2-door roadster with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It also revived the name used on older models such as the M-type, D-type and others.

The first version of the Midget was produced in 1961-1964 and was essentially a slightly more expensive version of the Austin-Healey Sprite deluxe. They differed in grille design, interior trim, instrumentation, and added exterior polished trim. In the early days, the car was powered by a one-liter I4 engine with 46 horsepower (34 kW). In 1962, the engine capacity was increased to 1.1-liter and output to 56 horsepower (42 kW). In total, more than 20,000 examples were produced.
