The Glas V8 is a car produced by Hans Glas GmbH in West Germany from 1966 to 1968. It was sold as a coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was first introduced to the public in September 1965 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it earned the nickname Glaserati due to its design, which was similar to Maseratis of the time. It was powered by a 2.6- or 3-litre V8 engine, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Only 666 examples were produced in total.
In September 1967, a 3-litre version of the V8 produced under Glas was launched, although the company was bought out by BMW. The engine had a power output of 160 hp (118 kW), allowing the car to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h (200 mph).
