The Maserati Khamsin is a grand tourer produced in Italy (Modena) between 1974 and 1982 as a replacement for the Ghibli. It was sold together with theKyalami as a 2 door 2+2 coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front-centre engine. In keeping with tradition, it was named after the Khamsin wind – a hot, gusty wind blowing in the Egyptian desert fifty days a year.

The Khamsin was presented at the 1972 Turin Motor Show as a concept and at the 1973 Paris Motor Show as a production model. It was powered by a 4.9-litre V8 engine with 320 hp (240 kW), mated to a 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. This combination allowed it to reach speeds of 270 km/h (270 mph). A total of 435 examples were produced.
