The Talbot-Lago Sport is a sports car produced in France between 1955 and 1959 as the company’s last production model. It was sold as a 2-seater coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. The car’s launch was delayed due to the company’s poor financial situation, which continued to hinder its success until the last cars were produced.
The car was introduced with a 2.5-litre I4 engine with 120 hp (89 kW), mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The first model had an all-aluminum body, but later cars used more steel. From 1957, the car was powered by BMW’s 2.5-litre V8 engine with 138 hp (103 kW). After the Talbot-Lago was bought by Simca, the car was powered by a 2.3-litre V8 engine with 95 hp (71 kW). Only 54 examples were produced in total.
