Citroën Traction Avant - Classic Cars Kingdom

The Citroën Traction Avant is the world’s first mass-produced car with a semi-monocoque body. It was produced in France (Paris), Belgium (Forest) and several other countries between 1934 and 1957. It was available as a 2- and 4-door saloon, a 2-door convertible and a 5-door hatchback with front-wheel drive and a front-centre engine.

During its years of production, it was available with several I4 and I6 engines, which ranged in displacement from 1.3 to 2.9 litres, depending on version and year of production. The engines were mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. In total, more than 750,000 examples were produced and it was the first front-wheel drive car to be produced in such 6-figure numbers.
