The SS Jaguar 100 is a sports car produced in England (Coventry) between 1936 and 1939 as a replacement for the SS 90. It was sold as a 2-door roadster. The manufacturer’s name “SS Cars”, used from 1934, maintained a link with the previous owner, Swallow Sidecar, founded in 1922. In 1945 the company name was changed to Jaguar Cars Limited. The number 100 in the car’s name denoted the car’s theoretical top speed in miles per hour.
The car was powered by a 2.7-litre I6 engine with 100 hp (70 kW), and from 1938 by a 3.5-litre I6 engine with 125 hp (92 kW). These were mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
