The Aston Martin Lagonda is a full-size luxury car produced in the United Kingdom between 1974 and 1990 (4 series). It was sold as a 4-door saloon with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. The name was derived from the Lagonda marque, which was bought by Aston Martin in 1947. There are 2 distinct generations, namely the original from 1974, based on an extended Aston Martin V8 model, and a completely redesigned wedge-shaped version introduced in 1976.
The car was powered by a 5.3-litre V8 engine with 280 hp (209 kW), mated to a 5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. This allowed it to reach speeds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (62 mph) in 6.2 s. A total of 645 units were produced.
The 4 Series was unveiled at the 1987 Geneva Motor Show. The sharp edges were rounded off and the pop-up headlights were replaced by three headlights on each side. A total of 105 examples of the 4 Series were produced.
