The Riley MPH is a small production sports car built in England (Coventry) between 1934 and 1935. It was sold in a 2-door version with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. Only around 15 examples were produced in total and they are currently highly sought after.
The car had an aluminium body built on a wooden frame, drum brakes and the possibility of folding the windscreen to reduce air resistance. There were three sizes of I6 engine to choose from, with displacements of 1.5; 1.6 and 1.7 litres. The 1.7-litre version had a power output of 56 hp (41.8 watts), allowing it to reach a speed of 145 km/h (145 mph). The engines were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission or a pre-selector.
