The Mercedes-Benz W188 is a luxury sports tourer, produced in between 1951 and 1958. It was sold as a 2-door coupe, convertible and roadster with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was the company’s most expensive and exclusive, hand-built car and with its successor the Sc formed the top of the Mercedes range of its day. In total, more than 500 examples were produced.

The 300 Sc was introduced in 1955 with a better engine, suspension and rear with independent suspension. The car was powered by an in-line 6-cylinder engine with 173 hp (129 kW). There was minimal visual differentiation from its predecessor. A total of around 200 examples were produced.
