The Ferrari 166 Inter is Ferrari’s first true grand tourer, produced in the years 1948 – 1950. It was sold as a coupe and barchetta with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine as a replacement for the 125 S and 166 S. Only 38 examples were produced in total, and it was replaced by the 195 Inter.
The car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1949 as a sleek coupe and was bought for the road rather than the racetrack. It was powered by a 2-litre V12 engine with 90 hp (66 kW), mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, allowing it to reach speeds of 150 km/h (150 mph).
