The Ford Model A is Ford’s second success story, produced from 1927 to 1932 as the successor to the Model T. It was introduced to the public on December 2 in several possible body styles and four basic colors. By March 1930, over 3 million examples had been sold and to 9 body styles were available. Production ended in March 1932, by which time a total of over 4.8 million examples had been produced in all body styles. Its successor was the Model B.

The car was powered by a water-cooled, 3.3-litre I4 engine with 40 hp (30 kW), mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox. This allowed it to reach a speed of 105 km/h (105 mph). In some European countries, due to taxes, the car was powered by a 2-litre engine with 28 hp (21 kW).
