The MG T-Type is a series of open-top, 2-seater, sports cars produced in England from 1936 to 1955. Also known as the Midget, it included the TA, TB, TC, TD and TF models with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. In 1955 the series was replaced by the new MGA model.

The TC was the first post-war MG, produced in the years 1945-1950. It shared the same engine with its predecessor, and visually they were also very similar. The car was powered by a 1.3-litre I4 engine with 55 hp (41 kW), mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The TC was able to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (62 mph) in 22.7 s and its average fuel consumption was 10.1 l/100 km (10.1 US mpg). A total of 10 ,001 examples of the TC were produced.
