The Jaguar XK 120 SE Roadster combines an open-top body with the power and elegance of British sports cars from the 1950s. The long hood, the flowing lines of the fenders, and the wire-spoke wheels create a harmonious whole in which every detail stands out.
The SE designation stands for Special Equipment. The package included modifications such as camshafts with a longer stroke, a lightweight flywheel, a dual exhaust system, and stiffer rear springs. The power output of the 3.4-liter inline-six engine was increased compared to the base model.
The car shown here was completed at the factory in March 1954 and subsequently shipped to the American distributor Charles Hornburg. According to records from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, it was delivered in the color Cream with a blue leather interior and a Fawn-colored roof.
The first owner was Nancy H. Biggs of Missouri, a member of the Sports Car Club of America. She received the Jaguar as a gift from her husband, and it became part of the family’s collection of historically significant automobiles.
