In 1964, the El Camino was introduced as part of the Chevelle line.

The Chevrolet Chevelle (2nd Generation) was produced in the years 1968-1972. It was sold with a wide range of engines depending on model, from a 3.8-liter I6 with 140 hp (100 kW) to a 7.4-liter V8 with 365 hp (268 kW) (depending on the modification). The engines were mated to a 3/4-speed manual or 2/3-speed aic transmission.
