The MGB was a 2-door sports car, produced from 1962-1980 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and later the Austin-Morris division. The car was first introduced in September 1962. It was available in 3 variants, namely: the 2+2 coupe MGB GT (1965-1980), the sports coupe MGC (1967-1969) and the 2+2 coupe MGB GT V8 (1973-1976). A total of 523 836 units were sold. All variants except the MGB GT V8 were powered by a 1.8-litre I4 engine with 95 hp (71 kW) and could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 11 seconds. The MGB GT V8 variant was powered by a 3.5-litre V8 engine with 150 hp (111 kW), could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h (200 mph). All models were available with a 4-speed manual transmission. A 3-speed automatic transmission was also offered, but it wasn’t very popular.
