The Lotus Europa is a sports car produced in England from 1966 to 1975 in the 46, 47, 54, 65 and 74 variants. It was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and the engine located in the rear center. It has a lightweight, welded, steel backbone chassis and a fiberglass body. Initially the body was fully coupled to the chassis, but later switched to a bolted body to facilitate routine repairs.

The car was available with Renault’s 1.5- and 1.6-litre I4 engines and Ford’s 1.6-litre I4 engine, mated to a 4-speed or 5-speed manual gearbox. A total of 9,230 examples were produced.
