The Honda S800 is a sports car introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1965 and produced in 1966-1970. It was sold as a 2-door roadster and coupe with rear-wheel drive and the engine located up front. It replaced the S600 and competed with cars such as the Austin-Healey Sprite, MG Midget and Triumph Spitfire.
The car was powered by a 0.8-litre I4 engine with output of 70 hp (52 kW), which was mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. This enabled it to become the first Honda car to reach speeds of 160 km/h with still acceptable fuel consumption of 6.7 l/100 km. A total of 11 536 examples were produced.
