The IMC (International Motor Cars) Apollo GT is an Italian-American sports car produced between 1962 and 1964. It featured a hand-built Italian body and Intermeccanica chassis with a choice of 2-seat convertible or fastback.
The car was powered by a 3.5-litre or 4.9-litre V8 engine, which was mated to a 4-speed manual or 2-speed aic transmission. The version with the 3.5-litre engine had a power output of 225 hp (168 kW) and could reach a speed of 240 km/h (240 mph).
IMC sold 42 cars before production ceased in mid-1964 due to lack of funding. IMC then entered into a contract with Reisner , allowing Intermeccanica to supply the chassis units to the owner, Vanguard Industries. The idea was to give IMC time to find new funding as well as to keep Intermeccanica alive. In total, only 88 examples were produced.
