The De Tomaso Mangusta is a sports car produced in Italy between 1967 and 1971. It was replaced by the De Tomaso Pantera. It was sold as a 2-door coupe. The car was rear-wheel drive with the engine located in the centre rear.
It was available with a 4.7-litre or 4.9-litre V8 engine, which were mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 4.7-litre engine was rated at 306 horsepower (228) and was used in the first European versions. The 4.9-litre engine was rated at 230 hp (170 kW) and powered almost all Mangusta cars in Europe and North America. In total, only 401 examples were produced.
