The Fiat 8V is a sports car produced by the Italian company in between 1952 and 1954. It was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. It was introduced to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in 1952 and was given the name 8V because at the time of its production Fiat believed Ford had the copyright on the “V8”. Other than the differential, the 8V shared no parts with other Fiats. In total, only 114 examples were produced.
The 8V was powered by a 2-litre V8 engine with 104 hp (77 kW), which was gradually increased, first to 113 hp (85 kW) and then to 125 hp (93 kW). The engine was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, allowing the car to reach a speed of 190 km/h (190 mph).
