The Porsche 356 is a sports car produced in from 1948 to 1965 as the first production Porsche car. It was sold as a 2-door coupe, convertible and roadster. It was light and nimble to drive with rear-wheel drive and a rear-mounted engine. It evolved over the years, which contributed to its success and popularity in motorsport. In total, roughly 76,000 examples were produced.
The Porsche 356 B was produced in from 1960 to 1963 (T5 body). In mid-1962 the body type was changed to T6 which caused several exterior changes, but the model designation remained the same. After the T6 body type received disc brakes the model designation was changed to 356 C. The car was powered by a 1.6-litre or 2-litre, flat-six, 4-cylinder engine, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
