The Maserati Mexico (Tipo AM112) is a grand tourer produced in the years 1966 – 1972 by the Italian company Maserati. It was sold as a 2-door, 4-seater coupe with rear-wheel drive and front-mounted engine. It was based on the second series Maserati Quattroporte (Tipo AM107) and was powered by the same engines. In total, only 485 examples were produced.
The prototype design was unveiled at the 1965 Turin Motor Show in where, upon completion, it was sold to Mexican President Mateos, earning him the name Mexico. The car was initially powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine with 290 hp (216 kW), mated to a 3-speed aic or 5-speed manual transmission. This allowed it to reach speeds between 240-250 km/h (240-250 mph). From 1969, it was also available with a smaller, 4.2-litre V8 engine.
