The Maserati Quattroporte is a large 4-door luxury sedan produced in Italy from 1963 to 2023 in six generations. The name in Italian means “four doors”.
The first generation Quattroporte was produced from 1963 to 1969 and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. The first variant was powered by a 4.1-litre V8 engine with 256 hp (191 kW). A total of 230 examples of this variant were produced. The second variant of the first series was produced from 1966 to 1969 with a completely redesigned interior. It was powered by the 4.1-litre V8 engine used in the previous variant or the 4.7-litre engine with 286 hp (213 kW). The top speed of the latter version was 255 km/h (255 mph), making the car the fastest 4-door sedan in the world. In total, something like 500 examples of the second version were produced.
