The Opel GT is a sports car produced in two generations in 1968-1973 and 2007-2009. It was sold as a 2-seater, 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and front-mounted engine. The first generation was unveiled in 1965 at the Paris and Frankfurt motor shows and was produced in West Germany. Production of the second generation continued for 34 years in the US.
The first generation was powered by a 1.1-litre I4 engine with 67 hp (50 kW) in basis. However, there was also a choice of a 1.9-litre version of the I4 engine with a output of 102 hp (76 kW), which was preferred by most buyers. The engines were mated to a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. The top speed of the GT was 182 km/h.
