The Alfa Romeo 2600 was produced in between 1962 and 1968 as the successor to the 2000. The car was sold as a 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe and convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was historically significant as it was the last Alfa Romeo model with an inline 6-cylinder engine. In total, a little more than 11,000 examples were produced.
The 2600 was introduced in 1962 at the Geneva Motor Show as a sedan with factory-built bodywork. Other variants of the 2600 had externally produced bodies. The car was powered by a 2.6-liter I6 engine with up to 165 hp (123 kW) and a top speed of 215 km/h (215 mph) depending on configuration.
