The Triumph GT6 is a sports car based on the Triumph Spitfire convertible and produced in England from 1966 to 1973 (3 generations). It was sold as a 2-door fastback with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. In total, over 40,000 examples were produced.
The Triumph GT6 Mk II (designated GT6+ in North America) was produced in between 1968 and 1970. Compared to the previous model, the rear suspension and front bumper were significantly redesigned due to crash regulations. The car was powered by a 2-liter I6 engine with 104 hp (78 kW), which was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, allowing it to reach speeds of 172 km/h (172 mph). In total, more than 12,000 examples of the second generation were produced.
