The Jensen Interceptor is a large road car hand-built in between 1966 and 1976. It was sold as a 2-door, 4-seater hatchback, convertible and coupe with rear-wheel drive and the engine located in the front. The body was made of steel instead of the glass-reinforced plastic that the company had been using for the last 2 decades. The name Interceptor was previously applied to a model produced in the years 1950 – 1957.
The Jensen Interceptor was initially powered by a 6.3-litre V8 engine with 335 hp (250 kW), which was mated to a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. The car was also available with 7.2-litre and 5.9-litre V8 engines. A total of 6408 examples were produced.
