 The MG MGA is a sports car produced in England between 1955 and 1962. Replacing the MG TF 1500 Midget, the represented a stylistic break from previous MG cars. The MGA was introduced in September 1955 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was sold as a 2-door coupe and roadster with the engine up front and rear-wheel drive. A total of 101 091 copies of were sold most of which were exported.

The MG MGA 1600 was produced by from 1959 to 1960. It was powered by a 1.6-litre I4 engine with 80 hp (59 kW), which was mated to a manual gearbox. It was able to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in 13.3 seconds and reach a speed of 155 km/h.
