The Simca Coupé 1000, along with its successor the Simca 1200S, were small two-door coupes with rear engine produced in 1962-1971. Simca provided the engine and mechanical parts, while the coachwork was produced by Bertone in Turin. The Simca 1000 was launched in France in 1961 and was an immediate success with French buyers.
In 1967 the name was changed, which together brought a total modernization, a more powerful engine and styling modifications. The Simca 1200S was powered by a 1.2-litre I4 engine with 85 hp (63 kW) and could reach speeds of 180 km/h (180 mph).
