The MG MGA was a sports car, produced in from 1955-1962. It replaced the MG TF 1500 Midget and represented a design change from previous MG sports cars.

The MG MGA was first unveiled in September 1955 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A total of 101081 units were produced, most of which were exported (5,869 cars were sold domestically). The car was available as a 2-door roadster and coupe. Earlier versions were powered by a 1.5-litre I4 engine with 72 hp (54 kW) and a top speed of 157 km/h (157 mph). Later versions had a 1.6-litre I4 engine with 80-108 hp (59-81 kW), could accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.3 s and reach a speed of 182 km/h. The MGA has been replaced by the MGB model.
