This sports sedan was produced from 1959-1967. Its predecessor was the Mark I and successor was the Jaguar 240/340, which was considerably cheaper and produced until 1969. The Mark II was one of Jaguar’s most important models, as it was the first true sports saloon produced by the marque. It was first introduced in 1959, when Britain’s first motorway was also opened. A total of 83,976 Mark IIs were produced. It was available with a 2.4/3.4 and later a 3.8-litre I6 engine with 220 hp (164 kW). There was also a choice of a 3-speed aic or 4-speed manual transmission. The car was rear-wheel drive, could reach a speed of 198 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.
