This sporty 2-door convertible was produced between 1957 and 1974. It was also referred to as Type 14. The name Karmann Ghia consists of the body manufacturer’s name Karmann and Ghia after the Italian automotive design firm. The successor to this model was the Scirocco. The engine was happily spinning behind the rear axle, the latter an air-cooled 1.2-litre flat-four.
