Tatra 613 was a passenger car of higher class. It belongs to automotive legends and was produced between 1974 and 1995 as a successor to the Tatra 603. It was developed in Czecho-Slovakia as a representative vehicle, intended for the highest state officials and functionaries of the then regime. The vehicle was produced in regulated small numbers and was not freely available, so its small batch production with a high proportion of manual labour was expensive. The Tatra 613 was powered by a rear-mounted 3.5-litre air-cooled V8 engine with 168 hp (125 kW) and a top speed of 190 km/h (190 mph). It could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds. Later models had a larger displacement, fuel-injected engine, achieving up to 200 hp (150 kW). They had rear-wheel drive, a 4 or later 5-speed gearbox and a fuel consumption of 14.5 l/100 km.
