The Maserati A6 is a series of grand tourer, racing and single-seater cars built between 1947 and 1956. They were named after Alfieri Maserati, one of the company’s founders, and their 6-cylinder engine. The 1.5-litre inline six-cylinder was named the A6 TR (Testa Riportata for its removable cylinder head) and made 65 hp (48 kW). The 2-litre inline six-cylinder was rated at 120 hp (90 kW). The engines were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
The A6 1500 was Maserati’s first production road car and was produced in 1947-1950. Its development began as early as 1941, but was halted due to war production. The first example was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1947. The car was powered by a 1.5-litre engine, which allowed it to reach speeds between 146 and 154 km/h. Only 61 examples of the A6 1500 were produced in total.
