Porsche 928 je 4-miesty grand tourer vyrábaný v Nemecku v rokoch 1977 – 1995. It was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. It was Porsche’s first production car with a V8 engine and was originally intended to replace the 911 as the company’s flagship model. His goal was to combine the performance and driving characteristics of a sports car with the comfort and driving characteristics of a luxury car. It won the Car of the Year title when it was launched.
The car was available with four V8 engines ranging from 4.5-litre to 5.4-litre depending on the year of manufacture, which were mated to a 4/5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. Prototypes were initially equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 300 horsepower (220 kW), but later, due to fuel consumption, the engine size was reduced to a 4.5-liter with 240 horsepower (180 kW).
