The Opel Kadett is a small family car produced in Germany between 1936-1940 and 1962-1991. It was replaced by the Opel Astra. It was available in 8 versions. The car had a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive until 1979 later had front-wheel drive.
The Opel Kadett C was introduced in August 1973. It was the last small rear-wheel drive Opel and remained in production until 1979, when Opel produced 1,701,076 units. The larger half was exported to other parts of Western Europe. It was sold as a 2/4-door sedan, a 3-door hatchback and a 3-door station wagon. The Kadett was available with 5 engines. From the 1.2-liter I4 to the 2-liter I4, they were mated to a 4/5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission.
