The Porsche 924 is a sports car produced in Germany from 1976 to 1988. It was sold as a 2 door 2+2 coupe and replaced the Porsche 914. The 924 was the first production road-going Porsche to use water cooling and a layout with the engine up front and rear-wheel drive. It was also the first model to be offered with fully aic transmission.
The Porsche 924 had its public debut in November 1975 and a supercharged version was introduced in 1978. The car was available with a 2-litre I4 engine (with turbo option) and a 2.5-litre I4 engine. The engines were mated to a 4/5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. The 924 was a sales success. In total, more than 150 thousand specimens were produced.
