The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a sports car produced in Italy in between 1970 and 1977. It was sold as a 2+2 coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was first introduced to the public as a concept in 1967 at Expo 67 in Canada (Montreal). It was originally exhibited without a name, but the public came to call it the Montreal.
The first production car was unveiled in 1970 at the Geneva Motor Show . It was powered by a 197 hp (147 kW) 2.5-litre V8 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This allowed it to reach a top speed of 220 km/h (220 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.4 seconds. A total of around 3,900 examples were produced.
