The Ferrari 400 i is a grand tourer produced in Italy in between 1979 and 1985. It was sold as a 4-seater, 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. It was very similar to the 412 and 365 GT4, as they shared the same body and chassis. Their engines evolved over time. The name 400 represents the engine’s single cylinder displacement in cubic centimetres.

Unlike the 400, the 400 i had fuel injection and it was also the first Ferrari model with an aic transmission. It was powered by a 4.8-litre V12 engine with 306 hp (228 kW), which was mated to a 5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. The top speed of the car was 240 km/h (240 mph). Towards the end of 1982, the car was redesigned, with new upholstery, door panels and centre console. A total of 1305 examples were produced.
