The Jaguar XK 140 is a sports car produced in England in 1954-1957 as the successor to the XK 120. It was sold as a 2-seater convertible, coupe and roadster with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. Compared to its predecessor, it has more interior space, improved brakes and rack-and-pinion steering.
The most significant exterior changes that distinguished the 140 from its predecessor were the front and rear bumpers and turn signals above the front bumper. The car was powered by a 3.4-liter I6 engine with 190 horsepower (142 kW) in the base and 210 horsepower (157 kW) in the modified version. In total, just under 9,000 examples were produced.
