The Maserati Quattroporte is a 4-door luxury sports sedan produced in Italy since 1963 in six generations. The name in Italian means four doors.

The Maserati Quattroporte III was produced in between 1979 and 1990. It had rear-wheel drive unlike the previous generation and engine located in the front. At first it was badged 4PORTE, but later in 1981 it was switched to Quattroporte. The interior was leather with wooden features.

It was powered by a 4.9-liter V8 engine with 276 hp (206 kW) or a smaller 4.2-liter V8 engine with 252 hp (188 kW), which was mated to a 5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission.
