The Jaguar XJ is a series of luxury cars produced in the years 1968 – 2019. The cars were produced in five basic generations with various modified versions and have been Jaguar’s flagship 4-door models since 1970.
The Jaguar XJ Series III was produced in from 1979 to 1992 as a 4-door sedan. Compared to the second series, the car had thicker rubber bumpers, aligned door handles and other other modifications. Also available for the first time was a sunroof option and cruise control. The third series was sold with modified engines from the second generation, that is, the 5.3-liter V12 and 4.2-liter or 3.4-liter I6. A total of 132 952 examples were produced.
